About This Course

The Skills Café C2C program focuses on soft skills development that helps students transition smoothly into corporate life. This gamified, blended learning program is designed to give tips to students on adopting a mindset that is required for professional life and provide tips on workplace communication, managing time, and leading self.

Skill Drill 1: Values Run. (2 hours)

Core values define an organization’s DNA. Understanding and expressing the values in every day work can spell success for individuals and teams. In this highly engaging learning module, participants will gain an understanding of the core values of the organization and apply them at work. Skills Café customises this session to the values of the organization.

Session Objectives.

At the end of this session, participants will be able to: 

  • Understand the core values of the organization.
  • Apply the core values to everyday work behavior.

 Session Plan:

  • Values quick refresher.
  • Values connect with business leader.
  • Values deep dive using intense group processes.
  • Online group work – values wall (using group collaboration tool ).

Skill Drill 2: Working with a Growth Mindset. (1 hour)
Mindset is the belief that we carry about our self. People with a fixed mindset assume that abilities and intelligence are static and cannot be changed and success is the only true measure of competence. However, people with a growth mindset thrive on challenges and regard failures as a learning process and a springboard to growth. In this workshop, participants will discover the traits of a person with a growth mindset, challenge their own mindset, and create an action plan.

At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to: 

  • Identify the attributes of a growth mindset as against a fixed mindset.
  • Appreciate the importance of working with a growth mindset.
  • Develop a personal development plan for each attribute of working with a growth mindset.

 Session Plan:

  • Introduction to Growth Mindset.
  • Growth Mindset card game.
  • Growth Mindset case studies.
  • Personal mindset action plan.

Skill Drill 3: Being a Professional. (3 hours)

Who is an ideal team member that every manager and leader would want to be a part of their team? Who is an ideal team member that every department would love to collaborate and work with? This workshop demystifies who that ideal team member is. 

At the end of this session, participants will be able to: 

  • Identify the ‘Leading Self’ behaviors.
  • Appreciate the importance of working with a growth mindset.
  • Identify the key attributes of team members who managers find easy to delegate work to.
  • Identify key attributes of team members who are collaborative and work easily with others.

Session Plan:

A highly interactive boardgame driven session where participants will discover the 6 self-leadership behaviors: 

  1. Be Professional.
  2. Clarify Goals.
  3. Seek Delegation.
  4. Ask for Help.
  5. Invite Feedback.
  6. Develop Expertise.

Work with Others.

Skill Drill 4: Articulate – Workplace Communication. (3 hours)

From emails to phone calls and WhatsApp messages, we are now communicating more than ever. However, communicating more does not necessarily mean communicating better. In this gamified learning module, we focus on the 6 core communication rules. The session explores how each of these values can be used across communication mediums.

At the end of this session, participants will be able to: 

  • Understand the core workplace communication values.
  • Use the values while writing emails, talking on the phone, writing messages and during virtual conferences.
  • Practice questioning skills.

Session Plan:

  • Understanding the 6 rules of workplace communication.
  • Apply the 6 rules to workplace situations.
  • Asking better questions.
  • Active listening.
  • Writing better emails.
  • Speaking better.
