About This Course

A happy, inspired, and engaged team often meets it goals. Managers need to follow a few basic principles  In this experiential workshop, participants will explore the strategies to keep their teams motivated and engaged.

Skill Drill 1: The Science Behind Human Motivation
In this session, participants discover science backed principles of what motivates us:

  • Seeing the fruits of our labour may make us more productive​
  • The less appreciated we feel our work is, the more money we want to do it​
  • The harder a project is, the prouder we feel of it​
  • Knowing that our work helps others may increase our unconscious motivation​
  • Positive reinforcement about our abilities may increase performance​

Based on the work of Adam Grant and Dan Ariely.

Participants than discover a To do and Not To do list to keep their teams motivated.

Skill Drill 2: Being Master Shifu
This session is driven using a gamified, group process. Participants take on the spirt of Master Shifu (Kungfu Panda) and try to identify the right motivator for their team members and out together a plan for keeping them motivated and inspired for the long-term.

Skill Drill 3: Promoting Health and Wellness
This session focuses on going beyond motivation and building a resilient and happy team. Participants work through stories, case studies, and short group processes to explore the following practical approaches that promote health and wellness in the teams:

  • Focusing on SHED (Sleep-Hydration-Exercise-Diet) by Sara Milne Rowe
  • Prioritizing – using personal Kanban
  • Asking and providing help
  • Structuring work
  • Taking breaks and time-off
  • Prioritizing health – physical and mental

Skills Drill 4: Reflection and Summary
A guided session to share learning and insights from the workshop. Participants will complete their learning journal and action plan.
